February – March 2016

The amazing pink StaticeThe start of another year in Bridgetown at Rokewood. After the successful opening of the garden in November 2015 for the Festival of Country Gardens a much needed respite was taken. During the four day Festival we had about 180 visitors with many delightful comments about the garden.

In February the summer started with very high temperatures, followed by an unexpected drenching of rain. After this, many plants in the garden seemed to be miraculously revived.

The summer stalwarts – Hydrangea, Crepe Myrtle and the amazing pink Statice were all in bloom and provided colour.

As we now reach the end of March with some more welcome rain, the camellias are starting to bloom and the Glory Vine is now preparing for autumn.
